Click Hot or Not was created by the ceo of Chicago Powerclean, Doug Simons.

In the process of looking for specific goods and services online, Doug noticed a lack of information that was not influenced by someone selling their product or service. That occurrence led to a meeting with the ceo of Chicago Web Design's Mike Cowles to discuss the possibility to generate a website that would be essentially ran by the visitors of the site.

In order to increase the accuracy of the 'votes' given on Click Hot or Not, the website was separated into four different categories for different age groups. The first being 'kids and teens', then 'twenties', 'thirties' and 'forty and up'. The idea being, 'give the people what they want without having to look too hard and they'll be happy'.

One of the tools added to the site to help this process is the search option. This was needed early on when the designers realized there would be topics and items that would be in more than one categories.

One of the best features on Click Hot or Not is the ability to see your vote and comments on the site live right after you make your vote. It is set up to only receive one vote per registered user to prevent inaccurate stats.

After almost 10 months of research, programming and designing Click Hot or Not was created!
