Click Hot or Not Was Designed and Programmed by Chicago Web Design With the Intention of Creating a User Based Voting Website.

On the technical side, Chicago Web Design used a combination of ASP, PHP, HTML, java and FLASH for the end product to work the way that Doug had originally envisioned. The end result is a multi-level, highly responsive website.

The initial concern was content management. Having visitors add topics, items and images and then voting on them without having any inappropriate content submitted.

The solution was to compromise the speed of adding content by manually approving topics, items and images, but allowing members to vote and comment on existing topics and items in real time so that they can see their votes immediately!

The other issue that came up to improve the user's experience was differences in topics based on age. Most kids are not thinking about stocks and retirement and most 50 year olds are not thinking about video game cheat codes.

The solution was to create four different databases to support the different age groups. The beauty of the programming is that you only need to register once and you can go to any of the age groups and vote with your username.

A indexing search option allows users to search for any topic or item and find it instantly to avoid adding it more than once, so they can see the votes and comments as well as add their own vote immediately!
